A surfer in a Western Australia has been attacked by a 4 metre shark, reports suggest.

A huge chunk was taken out of the man’s board.

The huge shark bit the surfers board in half, as you can see above. Sharks aren’t to be messed with, and if the image above doesn’t make you believe that, I don’t know what will!

He was swimming and surfing at around 2:15pm on a coast in western australia on Friday, when he was attacked by the shark.

The shark was attacked back with the surf board, and it went on to bite the man’s leg. Fellow surfers came to his aid and helped him get away from the shark. Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after.

28 year old Phil is believed to still be in hospital with his injuries, after he was airlifted there. The extend of his injuries are currently unknown.

A witness said: “Someone yelled out that it was a shark, I turned around and I seen a fella being attacked.

“Three guys that were close to him they started to paddle towards him…he was already off his board trying to push the board into the shark.

“Those three guys got him onto the beach… everyone came together, there were guys off calling triple-0 on their phones straight away.”

He continued:

“He’s just sitting on his board and the next thing you know we just heard someone go ‘shark!’

“I turned around and I’ve just seen this white kind of breach. It just obliterated his board, it was just floating there like icicles.

“I got over to Phil and just like, ‘alright mate, jump on my board’, because I was riding a log, like a nine-foot board.

“So, kinda just chucked him up on that and then another bloke, I think his name was Liam, paddled over and was shouting at everyone, you know, ‘come on, come help’, because it’s better to group up.

“Just from there on trying to get him into shore and keep him out of shock… A couple of the gashes were 150mm long.

“He held composure completely, he didn’t really even blink.”

The Sharks fate, if ever found again, hasn’t been decided, but locals have been advised not to enter the water and the beach has since been closed down.
