Covid-19 is currently the worldwide pandemic that is killing young and old people, at first, the virus was only set to kill old people, therefore 50+ year olds were most at risk and now we know that anyone can die from this virus, everyone is at risk. This came to why we had a lockdown put in place, however there are currently one places that got infected with this virus and has now eliminated it from there country! This is great news for them and they could be working on a cure without any issue with the virus effecting them at all.
New Zealand has said that they have currently eliminated the coronavirus, they are still getting small increase in cases each day but not over 1,000 and in single figures. The Prime Minister Jacida Ardern said they have “Currently Eliminated” the virus from now but this could still increase within the next few days if they don’t stop it fully and let everyone outside. The news came hours before New Zealand is set to move out of the toughest stages of social restrictions. From Tuesday, some non-essential businesses, healthcare and education will be active and will be able to resume as usual.
“We are opening up the economy, but we’re not opening up people’s social lives,” Ms Ardern said. New Zealand has reported fewer than 1,500 cases of possible coronavirus and 19 deaths from the virus. Everything is seeming to slow down in certain places and in others it’s seeming to speed up, for example USA have gotten nearly 1,000,000 confirmed cases. USA need to change something otherwise they’ll keep growing and growing.
