In Wales, coronavirus has been large and has been effecting most parts of Wales, including education as most cases are coming from those going into college and schools. This has caused a lot of schools and colleges to close for 2 weeks while every student self isolates due to them being in contact with someone with coronavirus. This is awful for everyone and due to this… they have decsided to change it up for 2021 until the virus outbreak is compelety done and dusted.

Schools, Colleges and other forms of education are stopping exams, AS and A-level exams in summer of 2021 due to the coronavirus outbreak. The impact of coronavirus has driven Education Minister Kirsty Williams to cancel all exams and AS exams in colleges and school around Wales.

“We remain optimistic that the public health situation will improve, but the primary reason for my decision is down to fairness; the time learners will spend in schools and colleges will vary hugely and, in this situation, it is impossible to guarantee a level playing field for exams to take place. We have consulted with universities across the UK and they have confirmed that they are used to accepting many different types of qualifications.”
