The infamous Mexican drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán is facing a trial which if he found guilty in will result in him spending the rest of his life in jail. Not surprisingly some of those chosen have done what they could to avoid being a part of it. Although every effort will be made to guarantee the juror’s anonymity being chosen is a pretty scary ordeal given Guzmán allegedly has a history of intimidating or ordering the murders of potential witnesses, something which could easily be extended to potential jurors.
Several were excused duty with the craziest reason given being that one had heard of Guzmán thanks to a bagel being named after him at a deli near his home which could lead to the man’s identification!
