There has been a rise in confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in the UK.

After cases have risen to 1543, the UK is said to be banning mass gatherings and asking the elderly to self-isolate. There are currently 35 confirmed deaths linked to COVID-19 in the UK, but this is subject to change.

The transport secretary has said that people over the age of 70 will be asked to self-isolate “as and when the moment is right” – but that they would still be able to go outside and “walk the dog”.

He said: “We will ask people to do that as and when the moment is right.”

Even companies like Rolls Royce and Airbus are planning on contributing to the fight, saying: “we understand that the government is exploring ways in which businesses can help deal with the outbreak of COVID-19, we are keen to do whatever we can to help the government and the country at this time and will look to provide any practical help we can.”

Johnson and no. 10 are planning to do daily updates on the Coronavirus, stay tuned for more.
