Monkeypoxs is currently the new virus to hit the world, after spreading to almost every single country in the world, the first case of Monkeypox has been seen in Wales!
The Public Health Wales, PHW, has reported the first cases of Monkeypox in Wales and has said the case was being managed “appropriately” and this means that no further details will be disclosed about the patient at this time.
According to the UK Health Security Agency, UKHSA, there were reportedly 79 cases of Monkeypox in the UK as of Tuesday. Meaning this is slowly climbing.
Health Minister Eluned Morgan said contract tracing is underway and also added this.
“The confirmation of this case in Wales is not unexpected in light of the developing situation in the UK and in a number of countries around the world.”
Monkeypox is currently the next virus that could take over after the Covid-19 pandemic, however, this is seeming like it’s not as deadly as some people may think it is. This could be similar situations to the Ebola situation, however, maybe slightly worse. In ways of pandemic precautions and how we saw Ebola.
Symptoms may include, a fever, headache, muscle ache, backache, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and exhaustion!
