Winslow the tabby cat has attracted online attention after it was discovered that he’s a talented pianist.

Winslow the pianist cat.

Well, not exactly, but he does put on a show every time he wants food, attention, or his litter tray changed, his owner says.

Seven year old Winslow used to be noisy and needy, all until his owner, Kate, gave him his own tiny piano to play on whenever he needed something.

Kate says she adopted him young, after she saw him in a fight with a dog in her cousins back garden.

The 29 year old said: “He used to run around screaming all the time and I was like, “this is no good”.

“The piano is another way to communicate, so he’s not screaming bloody murder.“

Speaking about adopting the kitten, she said: “He was a rambunctious kitten and he’s transformed into a chaotic gentlemen.

“He was scarred up, covered in dirt, we had to teach him how to eat dry food and he had a serious case of ringworm.

“Winslow started showing interest in the piano when he was a kitten, playing the notes and looking underneath trying to find where they were coming from.

“It became some kind of hunting reward because he can’t do much in the apartment.

“He tends to only play it when we’re in the kitchen and he knows he can possibly get a snack.”

However it’s not just food that he plays for, he also uses his pianist skills to get cuddles and attention from his owner.

“He uses the piano to express himself in general, for attention, to get his litter scooped,” Kate said.
