Jocelyn Zakhour has been jailed for upwards of 4 years after she conned men out of upwards of £450,000 on Tinder, after saying she needed the money for a blueberry farm.

However, she spent the money in casinos to feed her gambling addiction it was revealed.

The 41 year old seemed slightly remorseful, and cried in court, as she was sentenced to a maximum of four-and-a-half years, with a non-parole period of two years and eight months.

She pleaded guilty to six counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception, three counts of blackmail and two counts of extortion with the threat to inflict injury, after threatening one man’s family after he refused to pay up any more money.

In one message she said: “Tell your ex-wife you will kill yourself if she doesn’t give you the money.”

The victim was initially lured in after she told him he could get 3x return on his investment into her blueberry farm.

To “prove” that the money would come back to him, she bought the man a Rolex. This also turned out to be as a real as the blueberry farm he invested in, and will have only set her back a couple $100 at the very most.

She also partially blamed the victims for parting with their money, saying they were “stupid enough” to do so.

She said to police: “He knew what type of girl I was.”

Since the incidents, she had reportedly been working in soup kitchens voluntarily, and has paid back around 10% of the money she swindled.

She will have to serve at least 2 years and 8 months before she’s eligible for parole.
