Archie Battersbee’s Case to go to the Supreme Court?

In a recent article on Five Minute Spare, click here to see the article about this, it was believed that the Court of Appeal Judges ruled that the 12-year-olds life-support was not to continue past 12:00 BST on Tuesday, however, the family has fought back again and has lodged an appeal to the Supreme Court about keeping him on life support!

Archie Battersbee is a young boy, 12 years old, who was found unconscious at his home in Southend, Essex on the 7ths of April 2022. This resulted in him going straight to the hospital and into life support.

He has never regained consciousness and his mother, Hollie Dance, believes he may have been taking part in an online challenge when he suffered brain damage. The online challenge was believed to involve a plastic bag.

“They [Archie’s parents] are seeking a stay of the Court of Appeal’s decision to allow withdrawal of life-support treatment from their child.” In a statement, a spokeswoman for the Supreme Court said

The Supreme Court has stated that they will not take on this case, however, they have sent the case to them anyway as they believe that he is progressing so much!
