An Australian man with an offensive number plate has received criticism – from those who could figure out what it meant.

The plate isn’t even in poor taste, a joke at someone’s expense, and, to be honest, it is quite funny.

Peter Lavac, a barrister, defended his decision to have ‘LGOPNR’ on his luxurious Lamborghini and says he doesn’t care if anyone is insulted by it.

The plate means “leg opener”, and he claims not everyone will know what it means anyways.

He even went as far as battling those claiming its offensive, challenging the Transport NSW order in local court earlier this month saying he was just “taking the p***” out of himself. He won.

He said to media: “How can anyone be offended by something if they don’t know what the f*** it means?”

“How many other little Aussie battlers who have similar bullying letters?

“How many have caved in and laid down and let them walk all over them because they didn’t have my resources or legal expertise to stand up to this and challenge them?

“They are bureaucratic bullies,” the angry motorist continued.

“They  are meant to be humorous, tongue-in-cheek, funny and entertaining.

“That is how most people find them when it’s explained to them.

He also brought up the point of why the plate wasn’t stopped last year when he registered it, if it’s been deemed so offensive.

He added: “How could you possibly construe recreational sex between two consenting adults as ever being offensive or demeaning in any way, shape or form?

“It is tough s*** for anyone who finds it offensive.”
