The murderer of teaching assistant Lindsay Birbecks identity was previously withheld because of his age.

Rocky Price.

Now, however, he is allowed to be named, and has been identified as Rocky Marciano Price, a 17 year old boy.

The mother of two went missing whilst walking back in 2019, and, sadly, she was found in a shallow grave in Accrington Cemetery, which prompted a murder investigation.

Rocky will be sentenced Friday.

He was turned in to police by his parents, after they saw the video of him carrying the body in a wheelie bin, with police appealing for information on who the person in the video was.

The teen, however, said he was moving the body for a stranger, who had promised him money in exchange (it is claimed).

He stated: “I have not met this man before. I have not met him since, nor have I had any contact with him.

“He has not paid me any money. He told me that he would leave the money for me near where the body had been at first once everything was clear.”

The prosecution, however, said the defendant’s account was “implausible fiction”.

A quiet teenager, Rocky lived with his siblings in their family home all his life, and was diagnosed with autism and and adhd in school. He has no previous convictions, the court heard.
