Despite the fans of these two consoles always being at each other’s neck whilst online, Xbox has taken the first step into uniting the fans bases by personally congratulating Sony over their widely successful PS5 launch.
In the same week, across the world, the PS5 and Xbox Series S have been released to the public, with both consoles being widely successful in their own right. As the leading console makers, this is expected, but the congratulatory tweet from Microsoft’s Xbox wasn’t!
The series of tweets read:
“Generation after generation, it’s a pleasure to game alongside you. Happy launch day @PlayStation.”
Further down the thread, Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, went on to congratulate Playstation as well.
It read: “Congrats to Jim Ryan, @yosp, @cerny, @hermenhulst, @igTedPrice and the entire team at Sony @PlayStation on the PS5 launch. Great accomplishment during these challenging times.”
And, if this threat wasn’t already wholesome enough, Herman Hulst, Head of PlayStation Worldwide Studios, replied to the tweet too, saying: “Thanks Phil. What a great week for gamers around the world.
“We hope both our consoles and all our games bring joy to people during these challenging times.”
The Playstation has currently only been released in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. We’re going to have to wait until the 19th here in the UK, unless you’re prepared to cough up a considerable amount of money to get it early!
