This kind of fight is simply a money spinner for both fighters, of course people will watch the contest, if you could call it that, it’s a bit of fun on a Saturday night with a few beers. In a match with the Queensbury rules there could only be one winner, the same would have to be said for a contest that only utilised MMA rules.
Both camps are going to have to agree to a contest with rules that are suitable for both competitors. Kicks, I believe should be utilised, as should take downs . Hip throws,. shoulder throws and double leg take downs, these would make for an interesting contest, the fight may then last for a few rounds but should the MMA practitioner be allowed to utilise ground work , bjj and, or ground and pound the fight will be lucky to progress beyond the first minute of the first round. It’s just a spectacle, it’s not good for either sport and I don’t really believe that Dana should let it happen.
