Many makeup and skincare brands have been playing around with the personalisation of their products so a customer can have a formula that suits them however, for hair shampoo and conditioner it has never really followed this trend – until now.
The hair brand that have stepped up there game and have done this are Function of Beauty. They provide tailored hair care solutions at reasonable prices, this is all down to an algorithm devised by a group of MIT engineers and data scientists.
To start the process you have to take a short quiz about your hair type, your hair need and your hair goals. You simply tick if you have straight, wavy, curly or coily hair, then whether it is fine, medium or coarse and your scalp moisture level. Next up you select five hair goals out of their list. You can enter your name or initials as well as choosing a colour to add some extra personalised extras.
Next up is the fragrance, from fruity smells (pear, peach and pineapple), to florals and refreshing eucalyptus, to fragrance-free, there’s one to suit everyone. You can also choose how strong you would like the fragrance to be. Now it is the time where you choose your sizing and whether you would like a repeat order.
Delivery will take around a week due to the making processes and getting the product just right, it will be worth the wait.
None of the products will affect or tint anyones hair colour. They use FDA approved dyes at levels that are unable to affect natural or dyed hair colour. The only exception is if you pick one of your hair goals to reduce brassiness which will remove yellow/brassy tones from your hair.
The products are cruelty-free and are 100% vegan. They do not contain any ingredients made or derived from animals. Function of Beauty is a part of PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies program, which confirms that products are both cruelty-free and vegan. They are also gluten-free!
