The New York Fashion Week show that amazed all

A New York Fashion Week show only had models over the size of 14.

11 Honoré launched in 2017 and works with designers to expand their collections into more inclusive sizing. This year marks their first runway show and it was dubbed as ‘The New Runway’. They partnered with Shopify and Shopbop to make a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.

11 Honoré’s Founder and CEO, Patrick Herning, said the show was about “rewriting the story of what fashion has been traditionally and moving forward to celebrate the beauty and strength of women.”

The show features designs from designers like Brandon Maxwell, Christian Siriano, Prabal Gurung and Cushnie. They also had well known curve models like Candice Huffine, Solange Van Doorn and Laverne Cox. The show was to stand out and to show that fashion is for the ‘plus-sized’ as well, it is hoped that designers will embrace featuring curve models with open arms. According to Refinery 29, only 0.4% of AW19’s runway models were larger than their traditional peers.

Patrick Herning, founder of 11 Honoré, said to Harper’s Bazaar: “My biggest hope is that people will see the value and beauty of what we’re doing and understand further the shift that is happening within the fashion industry and our culture as becoming more diverse and inclusive.”
