Disney have been on a role this year, having four of their best movies making $1bn in worldwide box office sales. The Lion King was released back in 1995 but was remade by Disney this year and after only being in cinemas for 3 weeks, it’s managed to achieve over $1bn in box office sales. Better than anyone would have hoped for. Some fans were a bit sceptical about The Lion King being remade and made into reality instead of animation, however they managed to make it a roaring success, as some critics say.
The other movies that Disney managed to get over the $1bn worldwide sales marks are Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel and Aladdin. Disney’s class of 2019. In North America alone, the sales racked up to around $361m (£267m) and $638m (£324m) overseas. The Lion King will always be a massive hit; however, the music is what made this show a massive hit as well. Right now, three of the Lion King songs are in the US top charts, which was created by Beyoncé!
