A surprise addition to the Xbox Gamepass and the game is called Serious Sam 4. It launches for the Xbox series X/S and PC on the 6th of December.
According to its Microsoft Store listing, Serious Sam 4 is currently only available on Xbox Series X|S and PC – you won’t be able to play this one if you’re still rocking an Xbox One. At the moment, we aren’t sure if this is just a mistake on Microsoft’s end, but if it’s not, this contradicts what publisher Devolver Digital previously said about Serious Sam 4 coming to Xbox One and PS4. Back in 2020, a Devolver Digital rep told Kotaku, “The game is still coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 after its period of exclusivity is over with Stadia.”
Serious Sam 4 is available with Xbox Cloud Gaming, so those on an Xbox One still might be able to play the game using the cloud gaming service, though we haven’t been able to test this out.
In Serious Sam 4, you play as Sam “Serious” Stone, who leads the Earth Defence Force – the last remaining resistance group who are fighting back against the evil Mental’s horde of invading aliens. Either solo or in co-op with up to three other players, you will fight your way through Mental’s minions using an explosive arsenal of weapons to bring an end to the alien invasion. When it launched for PC and Stadia back in 2020, Serious Sam 4 received mixed reviews.
Serious Sam 4 is also available on Windows and with Xbox Game Pass for PC with its own Windows achievement stack.
There are 54 achievements worth a total of 1,000 Gamerscore, 36 of which are secret.
