Netflix have released a new true crime series which follows the stories of ten convicted murderers and interviews them about their crimes. The show recounts the events leading up to the murders, why they did it and what it is like living on death row.
The synopsis: ‘Showing that there are multiple sides to every story, each one-hour episode profiles 10 prisoners convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death. ‘The series features never before seen footage with extraordinary access to prisons across America. Each convicted prisoner recounts the events that led up to their crime and, shockingly, the event itself.
‘We discover their motivations, their expectations and ultimately how they now view the crime, after time spent on death row.
‘Different viewpoints and the impact of decisions made in a split second that have changed the course of the killers’ lives throw into question the viewer’s opinions towards the killers.’
One of the self-confessed killers, David Lewis admits: “I wish I could take back what I did. If I could I would in a heartbeat. After all this time of thinking about it, I know what it means to live now”.
The youngest person to be sentenced to death in Texas is also interviewed. He was only 17 at the time of his sentencing. Miguel was sentenced in 2002 and is still behind bars to this day.
People are hooked to the series and have gone mad for an insight into the thoughts and consequences of the actions of the criminals.
