Arachne was known as a talented weaver and even declared she was better than the Goddess Athena, who was also very skilled, but due to one simple contest left her being turned into a spider the weaveout the rest of days.
Athena was known for creating weaving and was supposedly the best among all god and mortals she even taught morals to weave, but Arachne got to full of herself and began bragging about her skills and all Athena ever wanted was respect for the gods.
Athena was outraged by Arachne and challenged her in a weaving contest, Arachne end up winning, Athena taking out her rage she destroyed Arachne works and touching Arachne forehead filled the woman head with shame and caused her to hang herself. Athena then brought her back to life and turned her into a spider, in order to let her weave all the time.
