Computing Stage 1 – Computational Thinking

Computing 101, the start of a new day of learning and the start of a new way of thinking about computers. Read this and take the quiz once everything is posted about the first stages of Computing.

Computational thinking is a method used by Computer Scientists to solve problems within code and or solve any formula solution. This is mainly used to slove stuff such as Logic, Assessment, Patterns, Automation, and generalization. As of now, there are only 4 stages that can be used;

  1. Decomposition
    1. Breaking down a big problem into smaller and smaller problems to make the problems more manageable and easier to understand
  2. Pattern Recognition
    1. Pattern Recognition is finding similarities within a problem and finding the solution from that
  3. Algorithms
    1. A set of instructions created by the user that will be performed by the machine and or robot, for example telling a robotic car to move straight then left is a part of computer coding.
  4. Abstraction
    1. Abstraction is filtering out the characteristics of patterns that we don’t need in order to concentrate on those that are needed.
