Whippet Border Collie Cross

The History of the Whippet Cross Collie Breed

Whippets are known for being massive, solid, skinny dogs that love running around a massive field and hunting with their owners. They are a cross breed of dogs that creates a dog that loves to run around and won’t stop running when they find something to run after, especially if their recall training is not up to scratch.

There are massive advantages to having a whippet for some people and disadvantages too. Here are two advantages and two disadvantages of having this type of dog.

1st advantage of the Whippet Border Collie Cross

If the whippet is on a farm and or near a massive field. It will be easy to get their routine exercise in, meaning they will be able to get their average running days and be able to be calm and collective in your home after this.

2nd advantage

They are incredibly loyal dogs. They won’t want to run away from their owners because they only understand their owners and no one else. For whippets, they tend to go for the male voice more than the female. But other than that, they are loyal and protective dogs that can be one of the best dogs to live with if they are trained correctly.

1st disadvantage of the Whippet Cross Collie

One of the most common things about a whippet is that they have separation anxiety, which means that when left alone in a room or in the house by himself, he or she will whine, try and get your attention by making a lot of noises and will continue this until you go up and collect them. This behaviour could include pooing or peeing at the door you left at, carpets being chewed and lifted from the floor, if left on a bed, the bed could be chewed up, and they none stop whining until they get what they want.

2nd disadvantage

If they are not taken on the walks that they need, they will also misbehave if not trained well. Whippets need proper training and care. Otherwise, they will be the worse household pets to have as they won’t listen to the owner or anyone if they aren’t trained very well or taken on proper walks.
