Usyk Moving to the Heavyweight Division!

After months and months of rumours, loads of potential fights, loads of news surrounding Oleksandr Usyk moving up to the best division in the sport, its finally happening! The Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion of the world, Oleksandr Usyk, is starting to prepare for the heavyweight division. It is finally happening! After beating Tony Bellew on the 10th November 2018, he has made his decision to go after the champions in the heavyweight division and see if he can replicate what he did in the Cruiserweight division. Beating the current champions Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder won’t be easy for Usyk but, he is prepared to fight them! The two best heavyweights could be going up against the next best heavyweight… Oleksandr Usyk!

Oleksandr Usyk has one thing in his mind… that is to fight Anthony Joshua for the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO championships! He could easily get a shot against Joshua; however, Eddie Hearn has said that he will be going up against a former world champion: Carlos Takam. The deal is done and dusted, they are just waiting for the date of the fight by DAZN! Usyk has said that he has always wanted to be a heavyweight, and now is his time to strike and win the championships in this division! If Usyk wins this bout, he may have a great chance of fighting either Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder, if they don’t end up fighting each other.

Carlos Takam has fought some of the best Heavyweights in the division. Fighters like Dereck Chisora, Joseph Parker and even Anthony Joshua. So, for Usyk to fight someone like him could help him understand how some heavyweight fighters act. Takam has currently been in 42 bouts and won 36 of them and only losing 5, with 1 draw as well. He could be considered as a top fighter in the division but not as one of the best fighters in the division! Could Usyk become one of the best Heavyweights in the division?
