Ryan Garcia Aims for Major Fight!

The lightweight king, Ryan Garcia has proven to everyone what he can do. He is by far one of the best boxers in the lightweight division at the age of 20! Ryan has managed to win 18 out of 18 fights with 15 of these fights coming by way of knockout. He may only be 20 years old, but he has the speed and agility to make his way through the rankings and win the championships in his division! Garcia could be the next unified lightweight champion of the world, if he decides to try and win all the titles in his division! Ryan may want to go up a few weight classes to fight in the Welterweight division instead! Canelo’s trainers really did sort out Garcia for this fight!

Saturday, 30th March 2019, Ryan Garcia went up against Jose Lopez in what seemed to be an even contest, however only 2 rounds in and Jose Lopez’s team decided he wasn’t going to fight anymore, therefore Ryan Garcia won via TKO (Technical Knockout). Ryan knocked Jose down in the second round with a flurry of punches. Garcia is known for being fast with his punches and not only that… he can take a punch too. One of the brightest young stars in the lightweight division has proven to the world what he can do, but who could he be going up against in the future?

Since Ryan Garcia wants a major fight, he may only go for one of three fighters! He has one of three champions that he could go up against. The first one currently has the WBA and WBO world lightweight championships and his name is Vasyl Lomachenko! Only losing one of his fights, he can be considered as the best lightweight fighter in the lightweight division, why is that? He is considered one of the best because he has got both the WBO and WBA championships in 13 bouts! Getting a championship could take years of hard work but for him… he got it in his 3rd fight! The second fighter currently holds the WBC lightweight championship, Mikey Garcia! Having 40 bouts and only losing 1 is a great achievement, however he is suspended till the 22nd April 2019 so Ryan may not go for him just yet. The last fighter is Richard Commey! He currently holds the IBF title and has only lost 2 bouts but knocked out almost all his opponents!

So, Ryan has one of three options if he is wanting to go for a championship bout, which is very possible. Garcia could be one of the only fighters that is bring people into this sport, so making him fight one of the champions would bring more and more people in! Which fight should he take?
