UFC Fight Night Thompson Vs Pettis
The UFC returns to Nashville on Saturday with a stacked card, featuring the headline fight between Stephen Thompson and Anthony Pettis. Pettis, the former lightweight champion is welcomed by “Wonderboy” to the 170 lb division, who himself is a two-time title challenger. It makes for an interesting matchup – Pettis is the 8th ranked fighter, but in his former division, whilst Thompson ranks at 4 in his own division. Both fighters will feel they have something to prove, and both are known for putting on exciting fights. Many feel – blink and you could miss this one!
The co-main event features Curtis Blaydes and Justin Willis at heavyweight – Blaydes is currently ranked fourth in the division, and whilst Willis is down at 10 he is looking to impose himself on the division and move himself into title contention. Blaydes has an overall record of 13 fights with only 2 defeats – both of those to Francis Ngannou (and 1 No Contest in his record). Willis meanwhile is on a career 8 fight run streak.
