The next UFC Fight Night takes place on 19th January 2019 in Brooklyn, New York and the main event is for the UFC Flyweight title. Reigning title holder Henry Cejudo faces current bantamweight champion, T J Dillashaw, in a much-anticipated matchup. Many have questioned if Dillashaw will be able to make the weight cut down to 125lbs, but if he does and is victorious in the fight, he will be the next “champ champ” within the UFC holding belts in two different classes. Cejudo meanwhile is confident in retaining the title and has stated that he will be too much for his challenger.
Elsewhere on the card is the match-up between women’s flyweight challengers Paige Van Zant and Rachel Ostovich which was rescheduled from 20th November, after Ostovich was assaulted by her husband resulting in a broken orbital bone. Also on the card is former NFL player Greg Hardy who is making his UFC debut – this has proved controversial in some quarters as Hardy has a criminal conviction for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, which resulted in 18 months’ probation. Rachel Ostovich has publicly stated that she has no problem sharing the card with him and is “cool” about Hardy’s inclusion.
