Should Russian Dmitry Bivol Still Fight Canelo?

A lot of rumors and speculation about some Russian fighters in the Boxing world and UFC world. In particular, the not being able to fight in boxing or UFC. This is due to the current war that has happened in Ukraine and Russia right now.

A Russian fighter is set to fight in a huge fight that could be one of the biggest fights of his career, some fans of the sport are suggesting he should be able to fight at all.

“This kid has got the opportunity of a lifetime, he’s going to take advantage of it for himself regardless of whether there is a problem going on in his country.”

Those are the words from Joel Diaz, the current trainer of Russian fighter Dmitry Bivol, who is going to be defending his WBA light heavyweight championship against Mexican Superstar, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on May 7th!

This is true in all retrospect however the Ukrainian former heavyweight champion believes that every single Russian representative should be sanctioned due to the war.

“Every Russian representative, in this case, needs to be sanctioned, because this way we show Russia that the world is against this senseless war,” said Wladimir Klitschko to BBC Radio 5 live!

For everyone at home, this fight will more than likely still go on, with the Russians not being sanctioned. He has nothing to do with the fight that is taking place, therefore he will more than likely stay a fighter for years to come, even if the war gets worse.
