Katie Taylor is the Oleksandr Usyk version of Female boxing. Only been involved in 13 fights and won all 13. She has got a bright future ahead of her, however on the 15th March 2019, she went up against an undefeated fighter known as Rose Volante, she was one of the best in the division until Katie fell into the mix. Rose Volante had the WBO World Female Lightweight Championship at the time, as Katie had the WBA and IBF World Female Championship. Both fighters knew what they had to do. Katie is on a mission to collect all the Championships in the division. Rose Volante was the one many people thought would be the dominate one in this contest, however the fight really showed how strong Rose Volante really is.
After 9 rounds of boxing, Rose kept going, showing the world that she can take as many punches from Katie as possible, looking to land one brutal punch to knockout Katie, however the match ended with Katie accidentally headbutting Volante and almost breaking her nose. The referee called the fight off and Katie Taylor won the fight via TKO. This is controversial to some fans because the way the fight ended. The fight ended via TKO and by an illegal move. Headbutt, however this wasn’t on purpose so this could have been taken lightly, either way, Katie Taylor was winning on points so if Volante didn’t knock her out soon, Katie would have won.
