Josh Taylor defeated Regis Prograis!

Saturday 26th October, Josh Taylor went up against Regis Prograis in the O2 arena in London for the IBF and WBA world super lightweight championships. The fight was very highly anticipated and very high in the rankings. A main event fight, even Chisora want a main event this time! Regis Prograis was the favourite in this fight and looked like he would be the winner, after 24 fights and 24 wins. Prograis was so confident in the press conferences and the weigh ins but in the fight… different story! The fight was close but there was one clear cut winner throughout the fight!
Josh Taylor won the fight in the end. A lot of fans thought that Prograis was going to be on the back foot, he was more athletic and had more of an opportunity as some fans believe. The fight didn’t end this way. Josh Taylor managed to beat him and win the IBF world super lightweight championship and the Muhammad Ali Trophy alongside this! Josh Taylor is now the number one fighter in the lightweight division. He has proven his worth and has now got the chance to get more titles. Only one judge scored the bout as a draw the rest was towards Taylor. 117-112 Montella, 115-113 Polanco, 114-114 Roussel! What’s next for Josh Taylor?

Josh Taylor could go up against Jose Carlos Ramirez for the WBO and WBC world lightweight championship, however this may not be the next fight, he may fight someone else before fighting another champion. This fight should happen to unify the division and make each title belong to one fighter! Will it happen in the future?
