Finally, the wait is finally over, the bout that has been rumoured to happen since last year in 2019… The mega-fight between the best Mexican fighter in the welterweight, light heavyweight and middleweight fighter, against the best British middleweight champion. This super middleweight bout is for the WBA world super-middleweight championship.
On the 19th December 2020, Callum Smith, the current WBA world super-middleweight champion, will be going up against the best pound for pound boxer in the world, Canelo Alvarez. The bout that has been rumoured for some time and was meant to happen before Canelo went up against Sergey Kovalev in the light heavyweight division.

Canelo needed to fight Callum Smith after everything was happening, Smith said he could be the second person to ever beat Canelo Alvarez. Smith has been saying this for some time however Canelo seems to think different, but now the world of boxing will know the best fighter out of these two fighters on the 19th December 2020.
“I have wanted a big fight since becoming world champion, so I am pleased that during these challenging times we can deliver to the fans a fight between the very best in the division, I truly believe I [will] beat him and will prove that 168lbs is my division.” Said Smith
