Awful moment has happened in the Boxing Ring again. A boxer by the name of Simiso Butgelzi has died due to an injury sustained during the 10 rounded boxing event. This was 2 days after the incident took place and the video that has surfaced has went viral.
A South African boxer by the name of Simiso Butgelzi was fighting in a 10 round contest that was seemingly going his way, showing the other fighter up and even going as far as to nearly knocking him out and forcing him outside the ring. This was then cut short after he randomly started hitting the air and not even going for his opponent anymore.
The referee decided to stop the fight and the boxer was then rushed to hospital after sustaining that injury to the brain. He was put in a coma after the fight and then 2 days later, he sadly passed away. He would of won that fight if everything went to plan!
“It is with great sadness for Boxing South Africa and the Buthelezi family to announce the passing away of Mr. Simiso Buthelezi who passed away last night the 7th June 2022 at hospital in Durban, Boxing South Africa will conduct an independent medical review of the injury and will then make public the results of that medical review.” a Statement read about the incident.
It is believed that he had brain injury that made him have internal bleeding.
