After Canelo’s success in the light heavyweight division, beating the number 1 fighter in the division and winning the WBO world light heavyweight championship, Bmitry Bivol is wanting to try and unify the light heavyweight division with the WBA and WBO world light heavyweight championship. This would set up a great fight between the winner of this fight to go up against Artur Beterbiev for the WBC, IBF, WBO and WBC world light heavyweight championship! Then after this the winner of that could face the IBO champion Sven Fornling!
Dmitry Bivol has only been involved in 17 fights and has already won one of the 4 major titles in the light heavyweight division, he’s held this title since 2017 and now wants to fight Canelo, one of the best boxers in the world currently, could potentially lose his perfect record and lose his title, however he could be the man to beat Canelo for the first time since Floyd Mayweather Jr. Bivol has been the distance so many times so he will be able to go the distance with the likes of Canelo!
Canelo could be one of the first middleweights to go up into the light heavyweight division and win the championships in that division and become another unified champion in a new division. He is currently the face of boxing and could be getting better and better. This fight could fine well happen in the future, however most of the fans would love to see GGG vs Canelo in 2019 or 2020, which is more likely to happen?
