Over a year has been since Anthony Joshua lost his first official boxing fight against former heavyweight champion of the world Andy Ruiz Jr. In the same year, Joshua retained his world titles and has still wanted to try and win all the titles, but one man is stopping him from doing this.
Kubrat Pulev has been the mandatory challenger for the undisputed championship of the world and this fight was postponed due to coronavirus and could have been postponed again if Pulev stepped aside for Joshua vs Fury.
Eddie Hearn has stated and said out loud that this fight is going to happen and will not be postponed again. “can’t afford to sit and wait for what might be”. This is what he said about the fight.
Current heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua fought his last bout back in December of 2019 before coronavirus stopped him from fighting Kubrat Pulve.
The pair has been said to potentially meet on the 12th December 2020 at the 02 Arena in London. So, this would mean that Joshua won’t of fought for over a year.
“Every sport is in trouble without fans. We have got to do what is right. We have got to listen to the government but we have got to try and make sure we can bring them back. Hopefully this is the next phase of doing that and the venues will be dependent on whether fans will be allowed back into the arenas.” said Matchroom boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.
This fight will be happening 100% and will not be stopping no matter what, other than boxing being banned due to coronavirus rising in many places again in the UK. Over 3,000 cases a day.
Anthony Joshua will be the favorite going into this fight and will be hoping for a knockout victory over the Bulgarian fight Pulve.
