UFC 244 – Masvidal Vs Diaz

Taking place at Madison Square Garden in New York, this weekend sees the highly anticipated welterweight  match up between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz.  Much has been made of the East Coast Versus West Coast rivalry with the winner coming away with the BMF title, but this is absolutely set to be a fantastic match up which is potentially too close to call.  Many observers have Diaz as the favourite, but count out Masvidal at your peril!  The ceremonial belt for the victory is set to be presented by Dwayne The Rock Johnson.  It has been quite sometime since a fight has generated so much interest and anticipation.  There can be only one BMF!

In the co-main event, a middleweight match up features previous welterweights Kelvin Gastelum and Darren Till.  This is Till’s first outing in this new weight class, and it will be interesting to see how he adjusts his style to a heavier opponent.  He will have the height and reach advantage, but this hasn’t previously been a problem to Gastelum who was able to get through to the rangey Israel Adesanya previously.
