Pubs and restaurants are now open for dine in options, however McDonalds is not.

McDonalds was one of the many stores that closed in March.

This has left many people wondering why the fast food chain is reluctant to open their doors for face to face service, despite opening drive thru’s a few weeks ago.

There is no date for when you’ll be able to enjoy your meal inside yet, but, obviously, branch’s are still open for takeaway and there are a few much loved additions to the menu that maccies lovers will be happy to see.

Posting on their Instagram account, the chain announced that the following items will be re-added to the menu and available to buy from July 8:

  • Milkshakes
  • Mayo Chicken
  • Bacon Mayo Chicken
  • Hot Chocolate
  • Bacon Double Cheeseburger
  • Happy Meal Organic Milk

“Menu Shake Up…From 11am on Wednesday 8th July, we will reintroduce some of the main menu items you’ve told us you’re missing, as we slowly seek to return to our full menu.”

Breakfasts are also going to be welcomed back soon, which we talked about in a previous article.

If you went out to a pub or restaurant this weekend, you will have undoubtedly noticed the protective measures in the facilities, such as floor markings, screens, and masked workers. It’s expected such measures will be taken when McDonalds re opens for face to face contact too, unless the number of Coronavirus cases miraculously drops. They won’t have such a hard time with the arrangement of the stores too, as we all know they’re not very big. The reduction in the 2 meter distance rule will massively work to their advantage, when they finally re open.
