A man in Scotland is selling his house valued at £500,000, and by the looks of it someone’s going to buy it for £2.50.

The £2.50 house.

You’re probably thinking this is some sort of mistake, but it’s most definitely not.

The way you reading this could own his amazing five-bedroom detached home in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, with  stunning gardens, a detached garage and even its own sauna, is by entering the raffle he’s running; yes, he’s raffling off a £500,000 house for £2.50 a ticket.

The house’s current owner explained on the listing website: “I guess the question that personally ‘triggers’ me the most is: is this a scam? That’s always a sore one.

“So, before I move on. I’m originally from a small village just outside Airdrie called Chapelhall and if I was asked if I would ever own this house? The answer would be (with an accent that hasn’t left me) ‘Nae chance’.

“My parents still live in the area and brought me up with solid ‘values’. I don’t need to steal and I also respect that people in life have to work extremely hard to get money. So, the £2.50 fee was to make it accessible for everyone, I just dislike the idea of people being ‘priced out’.

“I have further reduced the risk to everyone by no one having to make a payment at present. The idea is simple order tickets and I will let you know when to pay. I then don’t get accused of ‘hoarding’ monies or making interest etc.”

If this interests you, and you want to enter, all you need do is answer this question on the website linked below: “Which year was Airdrie’s observatory first established?”

Make sure you’re familiar with the answer though, as only correct answers will be in with a chance of winning the property.

You won’t have to part with any money for the ticket either, until later this year at least, (When the raffle closes), and to my knowledge you’re able to purchase multiple entries.
