The death toll has now gone up to 42 as eleven more remains have been found…

The remains were found in and around the north of the state. There are still over 200 now reported missing as the blaze continues. Nearly 7,200 structures have now been destroyed and around 15,500 are at risk. Officials have now named this the US state’s deadliest fire.

Speaking at yesterdays conference Butte County Sheriff confirmed 42 dead and 228 for the official number of people that are missing. More than 300,000 locals have had to flee their homes for safety across California.

President Trump has confirmed this to be a major disaster in the state, this means federal aid is now available to affected residents.

Bodies have been found in car and come have been overrun by the blaze as people scrambled to safety. Forensic experts are now stepping up the search in the ruins of Paradise, but officials have warned that it could take weeks to find bodies. The fire has burned more than 111,000 acres.

Celebrities Gerard Butler and Miley Cyrus are among the people whose homes have been destroyed by the wildfire.
