The body that was found in the search for missing Amy Gerard in Tenerife does not show any signs of violence.

Amy Gerard was last seen outside an Irish bar in Tenerife in the early hours of the 30th November. Amy was working at the local Loro Parque marine theme park.

The body was found in the water on Tuesday but has not been formally identified by Spanish police but the search for Amy was called off with the likelihood of it being the missing 28-year-old.

CCTV footage has been released showing her last known movements, she is seen singing and dancing with her German boyfriend before mysteriously disappearing.

The owner of the Irish bar said: “She came in with six work colleagues around 11pm on Thursday night, when we have live music.

“They were having a good time singing and dancing, but I wouldn’t say they were drunk.

“She was with her fella, a German lad called Dennis.

“The group all left in twos, and she and Dennis were the last to leave.

“She turned off to the right and Dennis went to the left.”

An autopsy on the body has proved inconclusive.

A police source said: “Assuming the dead woman is Amy which is probably the case, all lines of inquiry remain open, including the line of investigation of gender violence, the line of investigation of an accidental death, the line of investigation of a violent crime such as a mugging and the line of investigation of the death being the result of a suicide.

“All these lines of inquiry remain open.”
