Matt Hancock, the UK health secretary, has also tested positive for coronavirus.

He announced his diagnosis an Twitter too, just minutes after the Prime Minister.

He says in the video that his symptoms are “mild” and he took the test upon professional receiving medical advice from his peers. To remind people who complain that others “aren’t getting tested as quickly,” these men and women in government are running the country and are undoubtedly classed as key workers. He and the Prime Minister will continue to work from home and speak via video stream.

Ian Blackford, SNP leader at Westminster, whilst wishing the PM a swift recovery, said: “This sadly shows nobody is immune. Everybody must follow the advice on social distancing, non-essential work must not take place. We need to take all measures to isolate if need be.”
