Train travellers could face a £100 fine if they do not buy a ticket before going on the train. This is a penalty for dodging train fares in England and this is increasing from £20 to £100 as this is happening more regular.
The Government has stated that after Christmas, they are going to increase the fine by £80. This could be the better option as they are trying to solve this issue for some time now.
It will, however, be reduced to £50 if it is paid within 21 days.
“We need penalty fares to act as a proper deterrent, and we are putting in place a modern system that will help create a more sustainable railway.” Spokesmen said in an interview about this.
This could reduce the amount of people no getting a ticket before entering the train as this is happening more and more as time goes on.
