Tesla Boss Elon Musk has announced that their new, “interesting” looking truck has already had over 200k orders since the products launch.

All these sales are despite the on stage window error, which caused Telsa shares to fall 6.1% after the event. Regarding the cars very unique design, it was was greeted with cheers but also puzzlement. By Saturday, Musk tweeted, “146k Cybertruck orders so far, with 42% choosing dual, 41% tri & 17% single motor”.

No set date has been given for the Cybertruck’s release, but it’s said that the truck would not be ready before the end of 2021 at the earliest.

The Cybertruck is covered in stainless steel alloy and will be able to go from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) in about three seconds, in the tri motor version.

Tesla said the Cybertruck is able to travel up to 500 miles on a single charge. (If you buy the priciest version).

The way Mr Musk approached the reveal of the Cybertruck showed that his team has gone to extreme lengths to make this car better than any other truck on the market, in a number of different ways. Trucks amount to a large % of American car sales, so tapping into that market with a successful product will make Tesla a lot of money.

The truck starts at a very reasonable $39,000 for the lower spec, and comes with autodrive/autopark features as standard, even on the lowest spec vehicle.
