Piers Morgan took to Twitter to announce that todays appearance on the GMB show will be his last until September.
It’s been speculated for a while that Piers was wanting to take a break from the show, and now, it seems that time has come.
Piers took to Twitter yesterday to say: “It’s our last day on air tomorrow until September and we intend to make it a 🔥 one. So if you love us, loathe us, or just want to throw your remote at the TV, tune into GMB from 6am. I’ll be shouting. @susannareid100 will be pouting, and we’ll both be clouting.”
Peoples reactions showed their disappointment around the journalists leave, with someone replying to his tweet: “NO!!!!!! We know you need a rest, but you’re the reasons I put GMB on!”
A viewer mistakenly thought Piers was leaving permanently, so they wrote into the show.
The letter said: “After watching GMB, I thought I heard you state you were leaving at the end of the year,” to which Piers responded: “I’m not actually CJ, end of next year possibly.”
Susanna then joked: “Contract negotiations underway!”
Piers comments about leaving at the end of next year surprised a lot of viewers, including myself; the show wouldn’t be the same without him. But for now, the leave is just temporary, but he will still be missed on the show in coming weeks and months – by some people, at least.
