Paul Pogba has been diagnosed with coronavirus, says France manager Didier Deschamps.

Pogba is an experienced and skilled player in the French squad, and will likely be missed by the team in coming matches.

The skilful Manchester united midfielder will now have to isolate for 14 days according to regulations. The 27 year old will miss Frances next games against sweden, and their game at home against croatia a few days later on the 8th of September.

Pogba, however, may be eligible to play against Crystal Palace for manchester united on the season opener on 19th of September. If he’s healthy and gets selected in the squad, it’s believed he’ll play.

Pogba will be missed in the next game, and will be replaced in the by 17-year-old Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

“I’ve completed, at the very last minute, a change in the list,” Deschamps said on Thursday.

“Paul Pogba, who was previously on the list, unfortunately for him he carried out a test yesterday which was returned as positive this morning.”

Manchester United fans, however, can be hopeful that he will return for the Crystal Palace game, as 14 days will have passed. Fernandes and Pogba have made quite the dominant midfielder partnership recently, so fans will be eager to see them boss the league this season, as they did at the end of last.

According to reports, Tanguy Ndombele, of Tottenham, will also be left out of the France squad after also testing positive.
