The National Living Wage, also known as Minimum Wage,  has been said to be increasing on the 1st April 2023. This has been said to increase from £9.50 an hour to £10.42 an hour! 

The UK legal minimum wage for workers aged 23 or over is set to change, even for apprentices and more.

The minimum wage goes up in April every year, boosting the pay of about two million people.

The increase in the minimum wage for over-23s will be 9.7% to help them cope with rising prices.

The rising prices are continuing to happen therefore this will help those who will struggle to live in a house with kids at the moment!

From 1 April 2023, the rates will change:

  • National Living Wage for over-23s: £9.50 to £10.42 an hour
  • National Minimum Wage for those aged 21-22: £9.18 to £10.18
  • National Minimum Wage for 18 to 20-year-olds: £6.83 to £7.49
  • National Minimum Wage for under-18s: £4.81 to £5.28
  • The Apprentice rate: £4.81 to £5.28
