As you may know Paddy McGuinness crashed a £250,000 Lamborghini.

The incident happened whilst filming a new top gear episode. It seems he narrowly escaped death, after he skidded on oil on a North Yorkshire road. Thankfully, the 45 year old father of 3 wasn’t hurt in the accident, as it could have gone a lot worse. He showed the extent of the damage on Instagram, whilst the rare car was totalled on a loading truck.

On Instagram he says: “Hello there, back filming again today with Top Gear. Thought I’d show you the Diablo, it’s on the back of a low loader.”

“Gutted, look at the damage underneath here. Hopefully, fingers crossed we can get her back on the road and what have you.

“It wasn’t as bad as it was made out yesterday to be honest.

“But it just shows you: a little bit of oil on a wet road, lethal. I was only doing about 35 miles per hour. Anyhow, we live to fight another day!”

It just goes to show that it’s important to drive responsibly at all time’s, as you never know who or what could disrupt your driving. You could never predict where there may be debris or an obstacle like Paddy encountered here. It’s lucky he wasn’t going more than 35mph – the car was certainly capable of it! The police commented on the situation, confirming the dangerousness of the road, saying it had sadly claimed many lives in the past.
When the news became public, a BBC spokesperson said in a statement: “During Top Gear filming in North Yorkshire today presenter Paddy McGuinness’s car skidded and left the road, coming to an almost immediate stop. Paddy was quickly taken to the production unit base for medical checks and is unhurt.

“No other vehicles were involved and the police, who had been monitoring filming, were quickly on the scene to assist. Safety on Top Gear is always the production team’s priority and the vehicle’s speed at the time was within the road’s limit of 60mph.”
