A convenience store could be on its way out very soon, putting a lot of people out of the job and causing a lot of people across the entire UK to be jobless as this one store is “increasingly likely” to fall into administration unless talks around a reuse deal are successful!

More than 16,000 people are known to work for McColl’s, meaning they are all at risk of losing their job currently.

This is what a spokesman at McColl’s had to say about this;

If there is no fresh funding in the short term, the group would likely “be placed into administration with the objective of achieving a sale of the group to a third-party purchaser and securing the interests of creditors and employees”.

On Friday, its believed that Morrisons had proposed a deal to McColl’s lenders which involved injecting funds to help the current struggling retailer and make sure the business doesn’t go downhill!

This one deal was said to stop McColl’s going into administration and save many jobs by keeping most of its shops open! It’s reported that there are over 1,400 shops open across the UK.

However, Morrisons declines to comment to the BBC at this time, meaning they have said nothing about the situation at hand!#
