
Manchester Airport train station was evacuated and a man was detained after reports of a suspicious package. Greater Manchester Police said bomb disposal officers carried out a controlled explosion and a barrier has been put in place.
Police rushed to the airport’s train station in reports of a suspicious package, the airport interchange and surrounding offices were evacuated.
All trains, trams and buses were suspended but have now been allowed to work again and the stations are reopened.

Trains to / from Manchester Airport may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or cancelled while services return to normal.
Disruption is expected to continue until approximately 12:30.
