A man in America attacked an unsuspecting couple with a machete out of anger with the current Coronavirus restrictions in the USA.

Kevin Edwards, the attacker.

Police said the couple, 50 and 55 years old, were attacked unsuspectedly at a storage facility is Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday.

The attacker, Kelvin Edwards, 35, attacked Kevin Craft and his wife, Leanne Craft after retrieving a machete from his own personal storage. The attack was seemingly completely unmotivated, as he continued to attack them even as they lay bleeding on the floor.

Once police rushed to the scene, Edwards dropped the machete and surrendered himself to police.

One of the six officers, who were praised for their efforts, said: “The first thing that came to my mind when I looked through those doors I just saw the colour red was very prominent.

“Just from the way the victims appeared, I could tell from about 20-25ft away they were going to need quite a bit of medical assistance.

“We immediately set upon placing tourniquets around the arms and legs of Mr Craft and a short time later…we began treating Mrs Craft.”

Edwards is homeless, and is being charged with two counts of attempted murder, as the couple lay in critical condition in hospital.

Police have said the motive behind the attack was to show anger at the governments lockdown restrictions, and how the homeless have apparently had little support since they were put in place.
