A man from York has been arrested after throwing eggs at the King and Queen. This was during his visit to York and a man was seen on TV throwing eggs towards the King.

The protested missed all of the egg throws, however has been restrained by the police as crowds continued to gather.

He was heard showing “this country was built on the blood of slaves” as he was restrained by North Yorkshire Police.

The man was arrested on suspicion of public order offence and remained in custody due to this act.

People in the crowd started chanting “God save the King” and “shame on you” at the demonstrator.

Why did this happen?

The incident occurred on the second day of an official royal visit to York. During this visit, the King and Queen Consort will travel to Doncaster.

The eggs were thrown at them while they were being welcomed by a lot of the locals.

It is believed that the eggs missed the king and queen and the shells were seen on the floor. The video shows the eggs almost hitting the King and Queen during there visit.

Several officers were seen restraining the man that threw the eggs to the ground behind temporary fencing.

This was set up for the kings visit.

The man did this as he was protesting his belief and decided to throw eggs towards the King and Queen.

“I glanced across, [saw] the police just descended on the barrier and tried to drag this chap over the top.

“About five eggs he’d managed to send.

“Camilla sort of flinched a little bit when the booing started but they [police] quelled it really quickly. Just a shame they spoilt what was a lovely moment.” an eye witness saw.
