“Thank you NHS” has been painted on a bridge on the motorway notorious for it graffiti.

The new bridge art.

The bridge now used to say “give peas a chance” and was recognised by many.

But now, the message “thank you NHS” has been painted on the bridge, to many peoples delight. It’s not entirely clear who put it there, on the bridge owned by Network Rail.

A Facebook group to celebrate the original graffiti has more than 9,000 members in it.

The “peas” message was painted over and replaced with the word “Helch” in 2018.

Marc P Summers, admin of the Facebook group, said: “This is the greatest thing to happen to the bridge since it was messed with by Helch over 18 months ago.

“We are super happy and wish this to stay forever.

“The NHS deserve this as recognition for all their hard work.”

Peas is believed to be a graffiti artist from London, and the original work on the bridge just read “peas”. But “give [peas] a chance” was added later on, possibly referring to the artists frequent arrests.
