Libby Squire: CCTV footage emerges from the night of her disappearance

New CCTV footage has been found of missing student, Libby Squire, on her night out.

The CCTV clip show a woman, confirmed by police as 21-year-old Libby Squire, near the Welly Club music venue in Hull at about 23:20 GMT on 31 January.

Police are continuing to search the area near from where she was last seen.

Her parents Lisa and Russ Squire have released new photographs of Libby and provided some information behind pictures that have already been released.  Her parents are due to attend a special service at their local church today.

Her parents said: “Libby is a much loved big sister to her three younger siblings. They all really look up to her and she always expects them to behave.

“Libby has a big heart. She is always happy and having fun. She laughs a lot. She is a real family person, and loves spending time at home with them [her family].”

The new photograph above was taken on Christmas Day in 2018 which Libby spent with her parents and siblings.

The photograph above was taken in Paris in May 2017 during a gap year when Libby visited the French city with friends.

This picture of Libby wearing her white jacket is on Hornsea seafront in East Yorkshire. It was taken by her mum during May half term in 2018 when her mother and siblings came to visit Libby at Hull University.

The photo above was taken in Paphos in Cyprus during a family holiday. The picture was taken while the Squire family visited an archaeological park on the island.

The final photo which has already been released is on Libby’s 21st birthday at home in High Wycombe. Libby was born on New Year’s Day in 1998.

 

 

  • 31 January: Libby Squire is believed to have been dropped off in a taxi from The Welly nightclub to her student home on Wellesley Avenue at about 23:30. She did not enter the house but her phone was found there. She was spotted on CCTV 10 minutes later near a bench on Beverley Road, by the junction with Haworth Street, where a motorist stopped to offer her help
  • 1 February: The philosophy student is believed to have remained in the area until about 00:09. She is later reported missing and officers begin a search
  • 4 February: Her parents make an emotional video appeal urging their daughter to “get in touch”
  • 5 February: About 200 students and staff gather in the rain at the University of Hull to show solidarity and support for Ms Squire, her family and friends
  • 6 February: A 24-year-old man is arrested on suspicion of abduction
  • 7 February: A large screen displaying images of the student is driven around parts of Hull and officers hand out leaflets in the area where Ms Squire was last seen
  • 8 February: Humberside Police is granted more time to question the arrested man
  • 12 February: the search continues
  • 13 February: New CCTV footage released
